Sam Hughes – Geology

Having grown up in St Ives, Sam followed his passion and curiosity for how the Earth works to become a geologist.

Having left school he went to study a BSc in Applied Geology at the Camborne School of Mines (CSM), University of Exeter, based at the Penryn Campus. Following a spell working as a surveyor, he returned to CSM in 2009 as a lecturer, and to complete a PhD in Earth Resources researching the tectonic evolution of Cornwall and its influence on Cornish granites.
