Primary schools

“All of the children and staff at Denton & Yardley Hastings Primary School had an amazing 4 nights at Cohort. Right from the moment we booked to when we had to say goodbye all of the staff were so friendly and helpful. I can’t praise Lee enough for the fantastic communication.”

Rosie Gibson, Denton Primary School

Our primary school residential trips are super fun; building self-confidence and independence in a safe and secure environment. Just as importantly, St Ives is a stress-free environment for teachers!

Primary school groups have exclusive use of the whole building giving teachers and parents complete peace of mind.

At Cohort we can provide full board so all food can be pre-ordered and paid for in advance; leaving organisers with more time to enjoy the trip and everything St Ives offers. At the same time, if you’re looking for a real budget trip and want to keep costs even lower you’re welcome to do your own thing in our self-catering kitchen.

Cohort for Primary Schools

The safety of your children is of utmost importance to us. We have all the relevant risk assessments, first aiders and safeguarding policies in place; with staff available 24/7.

Cohort is completely secure with an electronically controlled key card system enabling us to lock the hostel to the public during your stay. We also have free, superfast WiFi throughout the hostel so it’s no issue if all the kids want to Facetime home at the same time.

We offer all interested school trip organisers a free stay at Cohort PRIOR to the trip being booked and if you’re local you’re welcome to visit and meet with us as often as you like.

Visit the What We Offer page for more details.

St Ives for Primary Schools

Cohort is located in the centre of St Ives so no need to worry about getting young children on and off public transport.

You can walk to anywhere in St Ives from our doorstep and all the beaches are an 5 – 10 minute walk away. If you’re going out for the day coaches can drop off and pick up from outside the front door.

There’s a doctor’s surgery next door to us, a Co-Op supermarket on the other side and a cinema right opposite which offers advance group bookings.

St Ives is very safe, easy to navigate and there is one beach where you will be able to have visibility of the whole group no matter how far they run (which is not that far – it’s a small beach!).
