St Ives | Cornwall | Educational Trip Accommodation
Eight rooms over two floors tell the fascinating history of St Ives’ heritage.
The tin and copper mining heritage of the area is well represented with original artefacts and historic photographs and there is a fascinating collection of old farming and blacksmiths’ tools and machinery. Other displays feature the history of the St Ives Branch Railway line and the story of the Hain Steamship Company.
The museum is fortunate to own a wide collection of art, ceramics and textiles, which originated locally. And it tells the story of some of the unique and colourful St Ives customs and traditions, many of which continue to this day.
St Ives museum is small so large groups may need to split in two to visit. Open Easter – end of October, Monday – Saturday.
£5/person, students 16 and under go free
